Paesano

Pizza, a classic choice for many when looking to eat out, but how does Paesano's pizza rank in comparison to the various choices throughout Glasgow?

Located on Miller Street in the city centre, Paesano is easily accessible for everyone, they have also recently opened in the West end so there really is no reason not to try this place out!

Paesano introduces Glasgow to traditional, authentic Napoletana pizza. The pizza itself is freshly cooked in Artisian built wood fired ovens directly from Naples, Italy. A yeast and sourdough hybrid is used for the pizza, being proofed for over 48 hours and then being cooked at 500¢C: this combination makes the pizzas so irresistible. The authenticity is unquestionable.

The restaurant also provides a very relaxed approach, with no reservations, as well as a simple and concise menu. The rustic interior and beer-hall style seating add to the relaxed approach.

A range of toppings are available, including fresh basil, spicy salami direct from Calabria, prosciutto cotto, mushroom, aubergine and Tuscan fennel sausage. On top of this, they also offer specials that continuously change.

With the fine list of ingredients, a hefty price tag may be expected but not at Paesano’s, with pizza starting from a mere £5 and the most expensive costing as little as £10, this leaves money for one of the nostalgic, simple desserts.

Not only is Paesano’s a favourite amongst locals, it was also voted the best pizza in the UK on Trip advisor.

With all this in mind it’s clear to see why Paesano is a favourite of many and if you haven’t experienced this: it’s definitely worth trying out!
